E. Scott Warren
Teaching Assistant Professor

E. Scott Warren holds a Ph.D. in counseling with a minor in philosophy in addition to a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies with concentrations of counseling, psychology, and philosophy, both from the University of North Texas. Currently based in Chapel Hill, he has worked as a psychotherapist and coach in private practice since 2002. He also provides executive coaching through UNC Kenan-Flagler Executive Development in their senior leadership programs for the U. S. Navy, Department of Defense, and Exxon Mobil.

Kimberly Balkcum

Graduate Teaching Assistant
Kimberly Balkcum is a doctoral student in the Counselor Education program at NCSU. She has worked as an instructor, a counselor, and an academic advisor for over 20 years and has developed and taught online classes for the last 10 years. She completed a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a M.Ed. in School Counseling at UNCC. She is also a National Certified Counselor.

Angela Smith

Angie Smith. is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified
Counselor. Angie attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania and received her B.A.
in Sociology with a concentration in Human Resources and a certification in
gerontology in 1999. Later, she received her M.Ed. and doctorate in counseling at
North Carolina State University.

Qin Sun
Graduate Assistant
Sun graduated with a master degree in Computer Engineering at North Carolina State University. He is in charge of the web development of the program. He is now a full time employer at Deutsche Bank Global Technology.
